The Body Speaks Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release John Barnes Approach

The fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the entire body from head to toe without interruption. Trauma, poor posture or inflammation can create a binding down of the fascia causing excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, osseous structures and organs. Standard tests, x-rays, myelograms and CAT scans do not show fascial restrictions. Therefore most pain goes undiagnosed.

The John Barnes Myofascial Approach consists of gentle sustained pressure into the fascial restrictions. This sustained pressure has a time element which applied slowly will elongate the fascia and release tension due to physical and or emotional trauma. Our body is over 70% fluid and our fascia system is the container to transport the bodies fluids. Ideally the ground substance of our fascia system is fluid to gelatinous state where trillions of cells live in our body.

When this ground substance hardens due to physical or emotional trauma, movement and activity become difficult. Inflammation and pain increases and water and nutrition cannot penatrate the solidified ground substance to allow for the body to heal.

Other forms of massage and therapy mechanically attempt to break up the cross links that can form in the fibrous network. Unfortunately, this only partially releases myofascial restrictions so there are only temporary results.

Myofascial Release cannot be truly understood until one experiences it. Only by direct experience and treatment of Myofascial Release will you understand how you can lead a pain free active lifestyle, with inner tranquility and mental clarity.

Dare to be great! Myofascial Release enhances your ability to enjoy your life in a calm, tranquil way utilizing compassion, wisdom, and love.
